Optional Home Care

Stay Independent and Safe with the Home Care Program

Nichols Village initially opened as a senior living community featuring a completely independent living lifestyle. As residents began to age, a real need arose where it was determined they may benefit from receiving in home care services. The goal was to assure residents remain safe and independent within their own Nichols Village homes. As a result, Nichols Village created an optional Home Care Program featuring onsite supportive and skilled care services. This program is highlighted by a well-established partnership between Nichols Village and thoughtfully vetted home care providers where residents may choose to contract services on an as-needed, pay-as-you-go basis. These optional services include:

  • “Supportive” care (non-medical) – These services include bathing, dressing, medication reminders, meal preparation, and companion care. Supportive care services are privately paid for by the resident and may be covered by long-term care insurance or Veteran's Aid and Attendance benefits.

  • “Skilled” care (medical) – These services are often used after a hospital stay and may include nursing care and physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Skilled services are covered by Medicare or private insurance when ordered by a physician.

Features of the Home Care Program
